Our Family
In 1950, grandpa Luigi Donati came across Montestigliano. He was a young entrepreneur from Le Marche, who had made a small fortune producing tobacco and was now looking for a place to settle down and retire. After several years of searching up and down the country for the perfect place, or as he would say “a majestic place to retire in” , he found Montestigliano.
When he passed away, his firstborn, Giancarlo Donati, inherited the property and business of Montestigliano. He decided to move to the hamlet and live there with his wife Adriana and their five children, Virginia, Massimo, Luisa, Marta and Damiano.
Today, the business is run by three of the siblings, Massimo, Luisa and Damiano and has made huge progress since then. Above all, the introduction of holiday rentals. Our beautifully restored Italian farmhouses have brought the estate back to life and support our farm. We are also proud to say that our farming is now completely organic and that tastings of our very own wine are just around the corner!
